Last night was a freakin CATASTROPHE. Or was it?
As you know I was giving away a pair of Jordan III True Blue for
the http://Sneakerfather.com blog contest.

I came online about 15 minutes early to make sure everything was
ready. There was a bunch of people online networking and socializing.
Everything looked good so I went back to finish up my shrimps.
At 8pm I came back online and hit the LIVE broadcast button.
During the 30 minute broadcast or what I thought was the broadcast
I was dropping jewels, showing my latest pick up and talked about
the risks involved when buying shoes early on the web.
They're were so many people online I couldn't keep up with the
stream of chats and tweets. So I went ahead and picked the winner
of the Jordan III and gave away 20 T-shirts.
So about 8:30pm, I said goodbye and signed off.
That's when it got interesting. As I'm looking at the Tweets and
chat stream I see comments like
"WTF, when is SG going LIVE?"
"Forget this shit, I'm outta here"
"SG Who Won, Who Won?
You can imagine I'm like "HELL NO, Say it ain't so!
Yeah that's right... DEAD AIR.
I was on for 30 minutes talking to myself.
After I confirmed that I did not broadcast I tried to go log onto
my Ustream channel with no luck. It kept kicking me off.
So I was like no problem I'll let everyone know to switch it over
to my Kyte channel.
Then the power in my house went out.
WHAT THE F@@K!!! Why me?
Anyway I finally got back online and got to do a re-enactment of
what I did earlier.
So whats the lesson here? NEVER EVER get cocky and assume your
technology is working correctly always get a 3rd party confirmation.
Some how Ustream did record the event without broadcasting LIVE.
